Built by Jean Bourré, one of the principal advisers of the king Louis XI (1461-1483), the castle of Plessis constitutes the perfect compromise between the small fortified town and the palate of approval. Its ditches out of water, its white stone and its slate roofs gray confer a single aspect to him which classifies it among the prettiest florets of the Loire Valley.

The castle is open all days except Wednesday, the morning of Thursday and the public holidays :

- April, May, June, September of 10h at 12h and 14h at 18h
- July, all days August of 10h at 18h
- February, March, October, November of 14h at 18h
